Mini Advent Calendar 2020 (Blog Hop)

Hello friends!

Today I am happy to be part of a little blog hop! A couple of German crafters have been doing a “Secret Santa” swap of mini advent calendars and today we are all gonna show you what we made! A big thank you to Birka for organizing this again!! 🙂

If you are hopping along, you should be arriving from Janine aka Ellabella. She made such a cute advent calendar for me with Mama Elephant stamps!! I was very happy when I got it and it arrived super early so I have been enjoying it for a couple of weeks already!  ❤

AND the kittens have mostly left it alone (they usual chew on everything), so yay! 😉

For the calendar that I made I chose a BUNCH of Lawn Fawn critters and dies as well as “Layered Snowflakes” Die-namics from MFT Stamps. If you place all 6 boxes next to each other you kind of get a continuous scene. I got to send my calendar to Katrin (your next stop!) and I really hope she likes it!! 🙂

HERE’S MY ADVENT CALENDAR!

I also made a matching card to go along with my advent calendar which I have already posted here! I used the same color scheme as for the mini calendar. Since Katrin and I both own cats I knew I wanted to send her something kitten-related. 😀

Here’s the full hop list again:

Have an amazing Sunday! ♥

MFT Stamps – Happy Camper 2 Ways (Guest Post)

Hi everyone!

I hope your week is off to a good start! Today I wanted to drop in again and say hi to my blog readers and show them two cards I made featuring one of the last Stacey Yacula sets for MFT Stamps! It’s called “Happy Camper” and once again it is so cute!

I made both cards for The Foiled Fox and you’ll find more detailed info about them on their blog!

Here’s a short overview for my owl card:

I ink blended a panel with Oxide Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles. I then cut it down to 2 7/8 by 4 1/8 and matted it with a slightly bigger black panel.

TIPPS & TRICKS: For the no line coloring I used a light grey dye ink, watercolour markers and added a few details to the owl with colored pencils.

The matching sentiment is heat embossed in white.

Main supplies:
  • MFT Stamps – SY Happy Camper stamps & dies, Blueprints 28 banner
  • Winsor & Newton – Watercolour Markers
  • Strathmore – Bristol Smooth Paper Pad
  • Neenah – Solar White 110 lb for the cardbase
  • Wow – White Embossing Powder

The second card was already made in September so if you follow me on Instagram you might have already seen it. 🙂 The Happy Campers enjoy themselves sitting by a bonfire, playing the guitar and roasting marshmallows! So cozy!

TIPPS & TRICKS: The main panel is cut from Bristol paper. For the sky, I faded out a pink watercolor marker in one direction and dark blue marker from the top (other direction).

Jane’s Doodles – Watercolored Lily

Hi there and happy Sunday!

I finally turned the gorgeous lily images from Jane’s Doodles that I had watercolored during one of the last coloring challenges from Kathy Racoosin into a card! Two cards actually – since I had quite a few colored lilies. I already shared the first card here on Flickr, in case you are interested to see it.

Today I have the second card here for you, my dear blog readers. It is a long card with a simple watercolor wash as a background.  To make the stitched rectangle die fit for my card size I used the partial die-cutting technique. The color scheme is basically monochromatic in pink and rosé. I followed a few challenges as inspiration which you will find below. 🙂

MY LILY CARD IN PINK:

Supplies for my card:

  • Jane’s Doodles – Lily Stamp Set
  • Jane’s Doodles – Belated Birthday Stamp Set (sentiment)
  • Winsor & Newton – Watercolour Markers
  • Stitched Rectangle Die
  • Versafine – Onyx Black Ink
  • Wow – Clear Embossing Powder
  • Wow – White Embossing Powder
  • Silver Sparkle Cardstock
  • Little Things from Lucy – Clear Heart Droplet

I hope to have given you some inspiration for using watercoloring on your own cards.

Have an amazing day! ♥
