CAS Christmas Card with Altenew

Hi guys!

How are you today? I can’t believe it’s end of November already! Time flies. And since it’s only a few weeks until Christmas now I recently made another Christmas card for my stash. Once more I was going for a CAS (clean and simple) design with lots of white space and only two layers in total. I used Altenew stamps and dies as well as Distress Inks from Ranger Ink.

TAKE A LOOK AT MY CAS CHRISTMAS CARD:

Altenew CAS Christmas Card

I have been seeing quite a lot of cards online where the “O” in JOY or SNOW has been replaced with a snowflake which I found really beautiful … And I thought I’d change that up a little by using the pine cone from Altenew’s Poinsettia & Pine as my “O”.

When I was coloring the pine cone I didn’t like the outcome so I actually colored a second one and this time made sure to use a loose watercoloring method where I leave some white / uncolored highlights (I have also blogged a flower card using this loose watercoloring HERE). I used two different brown shades of Distress Inks and added my watercoloring in two layers.

CARD CLOSE-UP:

For my background, I used masking tape to create a partial visual frame and then ink blended two shades of green onto it. To finish my design off I added gold splatters over the background and gold highlights on the Bold Alphabet die cuts using a Uniball Gel Pen.

Thank you for stopping by today! ♥

Floral Card with WOW Clear Embossing and Studio Katia (Blog Hop & Giveaway)

Hi there! How are you doing today?

Isn’t that a great start to this week!

MY FLORAL CARD WITH NO LINE COLORING

I have a floral card for you that I made with one of the beauuutiful flower images from Studio Katia’s “You’re So Sweet” stamp set. They seemed perfect for coloring with colored pencils and that is what I did – using a no line coloring method. I stamped the image with a very light dye ink that isn’t visible anymore now that I added my coloring.

Studio Katia You're So Sweet Floral Card 1

I used a mixture of Caran d’Ache – Luminance Pencils and Chameleon – Color Tones Pencils. The brands are a bit different to work with and also when it comes to their prize point but I honestly like them both! You can get great results with both kind of pencils, I think!

For my background I stamped the Studio Katia “Mandala Flower” in a light mint ink and used the same ink for ink blending from the bottom of my panel. I added splatters with green ink to match the leaves from my flower image. A few of the gorgeous blue crystal embellishments picked up the color of my blossom coloring.

HEAT EMBOSSING IN CLEAR

While I chose a simple black color for my sentiment (to add a bit of contrast to the background) I heat embossed it with WOW clear embossing powder. I really find that using that glossy embossing powder on a sentiment adds just that bit of extra to a card design! Black embossing powder can get a bit messy but by choosing a black pigment ink like Versafine and WOW’s “Clear Gloss Super Fine” embossing powder I got a perfectly embossed sentiment. Here’s a close-up look of the card:

Baby Card with Sleeping Raccoon from Wplus9

Hi there, friends!

I squeezed in making this baby card today with a cute raccoon from Wplus9’s “Forest Friends” stamp set! Another one that I finally used from my stash. 🙂

For my card I combined three different media:

  • an ombre watercolor background using Mijello Mission Gold watercolor paint
  • a crescent moon shape that I die-cut using circle dies – from an alcohol ink piece with gold foil on it (if you want to learn a bit more about “crescent shapes” check out Milka’s challenge by clicking on the banner down below)
  • Copic coloring on the raccoon using both warm and cold greys as well as a white gel pen for details

HERE’S MY FINISHED BABY CARD:

Baby Card Wplus9

The German sentiment means “Welcome Baby” in English.

Have an amazing day! ♥
