Oxide Ink Card for Challenge Up Your Life

Hello friends!

I am back with my second post as a Guest Designer for Challenge Up Your Life (CUYL) today with a colorful Distress Oxide Ink card featuring Simon Says Stamp and other brands’ products! ๐Ÿ™‚

Theme #106 is:

“CASE the DT”

CASE stands for “Copy and Selectively Edit” here. It basically means that you pick a project from the Design Team and get inspired by it – whether by the design, the technique, the colors or anything else. In your post you mention which crafter and project inspired you.

I CASEd a card from my friend & DT member Maike of Maikreations. When I saw it I immediately fell in love with the vibrant colors she used!

MY INSPIRATION FROM MAIKE:

AND HERE’S MY CARD:

For the background I used the following Distress Oxide Inks (from top to bottom) and a strip of masking paper:

  • Picked Raspberry
  • Abandoned Coral
  • Wild Honey
  • Salty Ocean
  • Tumbled Glass

The reflection on the water is made with a stencil from Honey Bee Stamps and Distress Stain in Gold / Tarnished Brass. I blended that on with a mini blending tool. Then I added a die cut sailboat and a sentiment, both from Simon Says Stamp (there is a full supply list down below).

Thanks again to the girls from Challenge Up Your Life for having me as a Guest Designer! I am already curious to see which cards they picked as their inspiration!

I am gonna be back later today with my third post as Winnie & Walter’s Leading Lady! ๐Ÿ™‚

Floral Fantasy Card for Bastel-Traum’s Challenge

Hi guys!

Today I am excited to be a Guest Designer for Bastel-Traum’s Challenge! They have a monthly card challenge that I have participated in several times. Then I was the lucky “Gold Award” winner of their November 2018 Challenge entering this Christmas card. Yay!! So here I am guesting for their new challenge – which is a color challenge.

My card features Altenew’s “Floral Fantasy” stamp set, an Altenew label sentiment saying “Let’s celebrate you” in German and one of their beautiful stencils with geometric shapes. I did layered stamping with different inks and some heat embossing for my top layer. I used a mask to place one flower behind the other and for the stenciling that I did afterwards. Scroll down to the supply list if you’re interested to know what products and ink colors I have used!

HERE’S MY FLORAL FANTASY CARD:

COLOR INSPIRATION FROM BASTEL-TRAUM:

Isn’t this gorgeous?!! Although there are flowers in the inspiration picture, I also thought about making a wintery critter card … but ultimately I ended up wanting to use the Altenew flowers again. Maybe I will still make a critter card with those yummy colors!

I can’t wait to see what you will come up with for Bastel-Traum’s challenge. ๐Ÿ™‚ If you like card challenges as much as I do you might also want to take a look at my challenge page (consider yourself warned that it is long list! :D).

Thank you for stopping by today! โ™ฅ

Let’s Toast with Lawn Fawn

Hello and welcome back!

I am just quickly saying “hi” today with this interactive card using Lawn Fawn’s Let’s Toast stamps and dies!

POPPIN’ UP TO SAY …

Lawn Fawn Let's Toast CardLawn Fawn Let's Toast Popped Up Card

I combined the Let’s Toast set with a tiny speech bubble die from Rawr! Isn’t that cute?

For the colors, I was inspired by the ongoing Lawnfawnatics challenge. I used pinks and lilac for the background and interpreted the gold-ish brush strokes on the inspirational picture as kraft.

I heat embossed a white heart onto the toaster twice to make it look like some kind of a 3-D logo that you sometimes find on electric devices. I would totally want such a toaster! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Thank you for stopping by. Have an amazing day! โ™ฅ
