Lawn Fawn – Birthday Shutter Card

Hello everyone!

How is your week so far? I hope you have things to look forward to during this time.

I’m dropping in to share a card with you that I first postet on my Instagram page and on The Foiled Fox’ blog a couple of days ago. It features a bright, happy shutter card with the newest mice set from Lawn Fawn, which is “A Creature Was Stirring”. If you have been following my card making for a while you know that I love to think of creative ways to use my stamp sets and really get the most out of them. So with this card I will show you an example of how to use the mice Christmas set for a birthday card!

First, let’s take a look at the outside of my birthday shutter card! I left it pretty simple so it will be extra special when the recipient opens the card and sees the interactive part.

I used different patterned papers for my card, all from Lawn Fawn. The card base is die-cut from the 12×12 Really Rainbow Collection Paper Pad – Yellow Brick Road paper. The hello die from the shutter card set is also cut from that paper!

On the inside of the shutter, I added a little scene with two mice and a birthday cake, colored with Copic Markers.

THESE MICE STIRRED UP A YUMMY BIRTHDAY CAKE:

For the shutters, the inside rectangle and the belly band I used the 6×6 Sunshine Remix Paper Pad – pink dots paper and banner paper. For the birthday sentiment I die cut two of the Fancy Wavy Banner dies and layered them up. I used Kraft cardstock for the top banner. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn’s Critter Concert.

I hope you like my card! ♥

MFT Stamps – Halloween Box Card

Hello!

Do you celebrate Halloween? I actually don’t but when it comes to Halloween stamps, especially the cute kind, I am all in! 🙂

I recently bought the new “Outside The Box” dies and “Snow Drifts” add-on by My Favorite Things and startet using it right away! So here is the interactive box card I made! I also used the critters from the MFT Stamps “Frightfully Sweet” stamp set and the moon from “Space Explorer” as well as their “Our Town” border die for the background.

MY HALLOWEEN BOX CARD:

The polka dot paper is from my stash – as I went with a typical Halloween color scheme I picked it out for my card … I also used Distress Oxide Ink to give the town border a similar color.

With this card I would like to participate in these challenges:

MFT Stamps – Happy Camper 2 Ways (Guest Post)

Hi everyone!

I hope your week is off to a good start! Today I wanted to drop in again and say hi to my blog readers and show them two cards I made featuring one of the last Stacey Yacula sets for MFT Stamps! It’s called “Happy Camper” and once again it is so cute!

I made both cards for The Foiled Fox and you’ll find more detailed info about them on their blog!

Here’s a short overview for my owl card:

I ink blended a panel with Oxide Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles. I then cut it down to 2 7/8 by 4 1/8 and matted it with a slightly bigger black panel.

TIPPS & TRICKS: For the no line coloring I used a light grey dye ink, watercolour markers and added a few details to the owl with colored pencils.

The matching sentiment is heat embossed in white.

The second card was already made in September so if you follow me on Instagram you might have already seen it. 🙂 The Happy Campers enjoy themselves sitting by a bonfire, playing the guitar and roasting marshmallows! So cozy!

TIPPS & TRICKS: The main panel is cut from Bristol paper. For the sky, I faded out a pink watercolor marker in one direction and dark blue marker from the top (other direction).
