A Crafty Weekend & Handmade Gift Boxes

Hello!

If you follow me on my IG page you already know that I have been away on a crafty weekend and have just gotten back. What can I say – it was simply amazing to spend time with my German crafty friends! My heart is full and I already miss them. โ™ฅ

Big huge thanks to dear Christiane @vivaldis_frauchen for organizing it again!

It’s a tradition that we all make these tiny paper gift boxes for each other and fill them with sweets or small (crafty) gifts. This time there were 30 boxes to make which is kind of a challenge when you are not built for massproduction – like I am lol! But it’s so worth it! Looking at all the beautiful handmade boxes and opening them on the first day is better than having a birthday, I am telling ya! ๐Ÿ˜€

I MADE THESE GIFT BOXES:

The boxes themselves were made only with colored cardstock, a Stampin’ Up punch and a scoring board. I decorated them with Mama Elephant’s “Pandamonium” stamps, tiny die cut hearts and a grass border. The panda bears on the outside already gave a hint to what was inside …

These cute little panda bears (ceramic figures) that are meant to be used as a paint brush holder! I think my crafty friends liked them. ๐Ÿ™‚

And look what I got! All of THIS:

Ah-mazing, huh??! Even the three crafty kids that spent the weekend with us made tiny gifts as well! I am so thankful for all of them.

We even got some crafty goodies sponsored by generous stamp companies! One of the goodies that were later given away in a lottery was a beautiful Hooray die from Neat and Tangled and I used it to make a card during the weekend.

MY CARD USING NEAT & TANGLED’S HOORAY DIE:

I ink blended the background using Distress Oxide Inks and splattered some ink on top for a little bit of texture. I die cut the hooray die from black and white cardstock and layered them onto each other for a shadow effect. Lastly, I added rhinestones to the wreath and also some black Nuvo Glossy Drops as embellishments.

I hope you like my projects in this post! If you ever get a chance to meet crafty friends, do it! Make it happen! Time and money can be a challenge, I know but it’s totally worth it. โ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅ

Have an amazing day! โ™ฅ

2 CAS Cards with Stencils

Hello!

I’m back with two CAS (clean and simple) cards today!

If you have already been following me on social media for a while you probably know that I love card challenges! I think they are a great source to get initial ideas for a card design, whether it’s by providing a sketch, color scheme or a theme. There are two different card challenges I wanted to join last week, and I used an ink blending technique over stencils for both cards.

A LOOK AT MY FIRST CAS CARD:

The challenge at AAA Cards was to use only one third of the card for your design and I went with a diagonal version. When ink blending, I used Distress Oxide Inks for the base layer and traditional Distress Inks on top for some color variation. I took the adorable mermaid from my small pile of pre-colored images – I colored her last year using Kuretake Zig’s Clean Color Real Brush Markers, a waterbrush and also a white gel pen.

SECOND CAS CARD DESIGN:

The second challenge theme (at Less Is More) was to make a one layer card with stencils. I rarely make real single layer cards but I accepted the challenge! ๐Ÿ˜‰ And I really wanted to use my beautiful flower stencil from Marabu again. Here is the finished card:

This time I used Lawn Fawn inks for ink blending with finger daubers, and for some interest and shine I added tiny golden splatters and sparkly embossing powder. The German sentiment means “Happy Birthday” / “Lots of Love”.

Thank you for visiting my brand new blog today! ๐Ÿ˜€

Have an amazing day! โ™ฅ
