Altenew: Card with Caps Bold Alphabet dies

Hello!

I am just quickly popping in today with a YAY card for Altenew’s May Inspiration Challenge! I have a lot on my plate right now and several posts coming up in June that I can’t show you yet but I squeezed in this little card because I just love playing along with card challenges. You already know that if you have been following me on social media for a while. πŸ˜‰

THIS IS ALTENEW’S INSPIRATION PICTURE:

Basically my favorite colors for cards! Love!

I chose similar techniques and products as on my magnolia card a couple of weeks back and drew color inspiration from the card in the middle of the inspiration picture.

Altenew: “Adore You” Get Well Card

Hello!

I filled in my new watercolor palette yesterday which has been waiting for me to use it for quite some time and once I finally had all my watercolor paints in one place (it holds 48 colors in total) I couldn’t wait to use it! I also made a color chart for my palette and swatching turned out to be the perfect thing to get my crafty mojo back! So relaxing! πŸ™‚

I had some beautiful stamped flowers from Altenew’s Adore You stamp set lying on my table and I colored them with three colors from my watercolor collection to make a get well card.

HERE’S A LOOK AT MY FINISHED GET WELL CARD:

USED WATERCOLORS:

I have different brands of watercolor paints mixed in my palette and these were the ones that I used for the flowers: Mijello Mission Gold – Bright Opera, Old Holland – Bright Violet and a tiny bit of Winsor & Newton – Winsor Blue (Green Shade).

I also used a gold Posca uni marker and Nuvo Crystal Drops to add dotty details to the center of the blossoms.

For the background I heat embossed splatters of water with gold embossing powder and added additional splatters with grey watercolor paint.

My CAS card design was inspired mainly by the colors and striking simplicity of Aga’s card from Altenew’s Inspiration Challenge as well as the first column (gold, watercolors, flowers) from AAA Card’s Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge.

The German sentiment “Gute Besserung” from Altenew’s German Label Love stamp set means “Get Well Soon”.

Thanks for stopping by today! β™₯

Magnolia Card with Altenew Alphabet Dies (Guest Post)

Hello!

How are you today?

Here in Germany spring has finally arrived since mid April and Magnolia trees are blooming everywhere now! Makes me so happy to look at them!

Since Magnolias are my favorite trees in spring of course I had to make a card with them! πŸ™‚ I chose the amazing “Magnolias For Her” stamp set from Altenew and put together a card which you can read all about over at The Foiled Fox’s blog today!

HERE’S A LOOK AT MY MAGNOLIA CARD:

Magnolia Card with Altenew

To color the blossoms I chose a two step coloring method: at first I applied a light wash of watercolor paint as my base layer. Secondly, I added all shading and details with colored pencils. I feel like this coloring techniques gives me the best results right now! πŸ™‚

Before coloring I searched for some inspirational picture online and found a bunch of photos of Magnolias as well as ah-mazing cards with the Altenew stamp set. I made a Pinterest board to gather all of them together. Here it is:

And now hop over to The Foiled Fox’s blog and have a look at my tutorial for the whole card and more card pictures. πŸ™‚

Have an amazing day! β™₯
