Altenew – Ditsy Print Card

Hello friends!

Today I want to show you this card using Altenew stamps. I was in the mood for a CAS (clean and simple) card design and pimped it with just a bit of heat embossing and three enamel dots. 😀 Take a look yourself:

Also, I used only two stamp sets (Ditsy Print and Label Love) and no dies on this card which was a great way to limit my supplies for a change! The card follows a couple of challenges that you will find below in case you want to check them out.

Thank you for stopping by! ♥

Jane’s Doodles – Watercolored Lily

Hi there and happy Sunday!

I finally turned the gorgeous lily images from Jane’s Doodles that I had watercolored during one of the last coloring challenges from Kathy Racoosin into a card! Two cards actually – since I had quite a few colored lilies. I already shared the first card here on Flickr, in case you are interested to see it.

Today I have the second card here for you, my dear blog readers. It is a long card with a simple watercolor wash as a background.  To make the stitched rectangle die fit for my card size I used the partial die-cutting technique. The color scheme is basically monochromatic in pink and rosé. I followed a few challenges as inspiration which you will find below. 🙂

MY LILY CARD IN PINK:

Supplies for my card:

  • Jane’s Doodles – Lily Stamp Set
  • Jane’s Doodles – Belated Birthday Stamp Set (sentiment)
  • Winsor & Newton – Watercolour Markers
  • Stitched Rectangle Die
  • Versafine – Onyx Black Ink
  • Wow – Clear Embossing Powder
  • Wow – White Embossing Powder
  • Silver Sparkle Cardstock
  • Little Things from Lucy – Clear Heart Droplet

I hope to have given you some inspiration for using watercoloring on your own cards.

Have an amazing day! ♥

MFT Stamps – Magical Friends Cards (Guest Post)

Hello!

Today I have two super cute cards for my blog readers featuring the new dragon set by Birdie Brown for MFT Stamps! It’s called “Magical Friends” and I am soo in love with it. Eep!

I made both cards for The Foiled Fox and you’ll find more detailed info about them on their blog!

Here’s a short overview:

The first card is a standard A2 size. It has a watercolored background, a white scallop background layered on top and the images are watercolored, too. I chose contrasting colors for the girl’s hair and dress to make her visually pop!

I wanted to stack up on birthday cards, so I took the sentiment from an older Birdie Brown stamp set which says “Here’s a birthday flyby”!

A2 SIZED BIRTHDAY CARD:

The little girl on the dragon is my favorite of all images, isn’t it adorable?!!
Supplies A2 sized card:

  • MFT Stamps – BB Magical Friends stamps & dies, BB Magical Dragons stamps, Dainty Scallop Cover-Up Die-namics
  • Winsor & Newton – Watercolour Markers
  • Strathmore – Bristol Smooth Paper Pad
  • Lawn Fawn – Everyday Sentiment Banner die
  • Versafine – Onyx Black Ink
  • Sakura – White Gel Pen (for coloring details)
  • Sakura – Black Glaze Pen (on the eyes)

For the second card, I wanted to make a large, slimline card that allows me to create a little story … The “Magical Friends” set has all these great Fairytale sentiments in it and book reading images! So I stamped up three different little scenes on die-cut squares. The first and third are supposed to be a made-up Fairytale story and the second one shows the little girl and her dragon as they are reading the book together. In their Fairytale they both have different looks and colors! 🙂
