Oxide Ink Card for Challenge Up Your Life

Hello friends!

I am back with my second post as a Guest Designer for Challenge Up Your Life (CUYL) today with a colorful Distress Oxide Ink card featuring Simon Says Stamp and other brands’ products! 🙂

Theme #106 is:

“CASE the DT”

CASE stands for “Copy and Selectively Edit” here. It basically means that you pick a project from the Design Team and get inspired by it – whether by the design, the technique, the colors or anything else. In your post you mention which crafter and project inspired you.

I CASEd a card from my friend & DT member Maike of Maikreations. When I saw it I immediately fell in love with the vibrant colors she used!

MY INSPIRATION FROM MAIKE:

AND HERE’S MY CARD:

For the background I used the following Distress Oxide Inks (from top to bottom) and a strip of masking paper:

  • Picked Raspberry
  • Abandoned Coral
  • Wild Honey
  • Salty Ocean
  • Tumbled Glass

The reflection on the water is made with a stencil from Honey Bee Stamps and Distress Stain in Gold / Tarnished Brass. I blended that on with a mini blending tool. Then I added a die cut sailboat and a sentiment, both from Simon Says Stamp (there is a full supply list down below).

Thanks again to the girls from Challenge Up Your Life for having me as a Guest Designer! I am already curious to see which cards they picked as their inspiration!

I am gonna be back later today with my third post as Winnie & Walter’s Leading Lady! 🙂
