Floral Card with WOW Clear Embossing and Studio Katia (Blog Hop & Giveaway)

Hi there! How are you doing today?

Just in case you need some craft inspiration to take your mind off the fact that it’s Monday … 😉 I have a lovely floral card to show you! And it’s part of a collaboration blog hop between WOW Embossing and Studio Katia so there is plenty of wonderful cards along the hop as well as some prizes to win! Isn’t that a great start to this week!

Studio Katia Wow Embossing Blog Hop

If you are already hopping along, you should have arrived from Kristina Pokazanieva and Olga Lukaseviciene is your next stop!

MY FLORAL CARD WITH NO LINE COLORING

I have a floral card for you that I made with one of the beauuutiful flower images from Studio Katia’s “You’re So Sweet” stamp set. They seemed perfect for coloring with colored pencils and that is what I did – using a no line coloring method. I stamped the image with a very light dye ink that isn’t visible anymore now that I added my coloring.

Studio Katia You're So Sweet Floral Card 1

I used a mixture of Caran d’Ache – Luminance Pencils and Chameleon – Color Tones Pencils. The brands are a bit different to work with and also when it comes to their prize point but I honestly like them both! You can get great results with both kind of pencils, I think!

For my background I stamped the Studio Katia “Mandala Flower” in a light mint ink and used the same ink for ink blending from the bottom of my panel. I added splatters with green ink to match the leaves from my flower image. A few of the gorgeous blue crystal embellishments picked up the color of my blossom coloring.

HEAT EMBOSSING IN CLEAR

While I chose a simple black color for my sentiment (to add a bit of contrast to the background) I heat embossed it with WOW clear embossing powder. I really find that using that glossy embossing powder on a sentiment adds just that bit of extra to a card design! Black embossing powder can get a bit messy but by choosing a black pigment ink like Versafine and WOW’s “Clear Gloss Super Fine” embossing powder I got a perfectly embossed sentiment. Here’s a close-up look of the card:

  4. Your colouring on the flower is just amazing! I tried Kathy’s Chameleon pencils and actually I rather liked them. It’s quirky having them double ended.A beautiful layout with the mandala in the background too. xxx
