Hello and happy World Card Making Day!! Are you crafting or meeting crafty friends today?
I am dropping in to share a monochromatic card that I recently made. Now, monochromatic doesn’t exactly scream stunning designs, does it? At least I often think of cards with only one color as not too interesting. Long story short, I was wrong. I have seen many monochromatic cards in the meantime that were absolutely amazing!! A few of them over on A Blog Named Hero (it’s a challenge blog dedicated to and sponsored by Hero Arts). I also shared a grey-in-grey card on Instagram a couple of weeks ago that I liked and my followers seemed to really like it, too. I was a bit surprised how much, to be honest. Social media can be quite surprising in that way, right?! 😀
Anyways, I really wanted to do some relaxing watercoloring and inspired by the current challenge theme “Monochromatic” I made a card with several different blue watercolor paints, including a very dark Indigo Blue and also a bit of white.
THIS IS MY CARD:
Before watercoloring I splattered some masking fluid onto my watercolor cardstock for the big fluffy snow flakes. For the trees and mountains I stamped down images from the “CL973 Road Trip” stamp set from Hero Arts. The small sentiment is from their “CL911 Acts of Kindness” set.
I will definetely give monochromatic cards another go, it’s a great way to just play around with my watercolors. And since I recently took Debby Hughes Online Card Class “Color Theory” I am even more motivated to do so. So watch out for more tone in tone cards from me in the future! 😉
Until then, have an amazing day! ♥
