I filled in my new watercolor palette yesterday which has been waiting for me to use it for quite some time and once I finally had all my watercolor paints in one place (it holds 48 colors in total) I couldn’t wait to use it! I also made a color chart for my palette and swatching turned out to be the perfect thing to get my crafty mojo back! So relaxing! 🙂
I had some beautiful stamped flowers from Altenew’s Adore You stamp set lying on my table and I colored them with three colors from my watercolor collection to make a get well card.
HERE’S A LOOK AT MY FINISHED GET WELL CARD:
I have different brands of watercolor paints mixed in my palette and these were the ones that I used for the flowers: Mijello Mission Gold – Bright Opera, Old Holland – Bright Violet and a tiny bit of Winsor & Newton – Winsor Blue (Green Shade).
I also used a gold Posca uni marker and Nuvo Crystal Drops to add dotty details to the center of the blossoms.
For the background I heat embossed splatters of water with gold embossing powder and added additional splatters with grey watercolor paint. I first learned that you can heat emboss with water when taking an Altenew Academy class by Sveta Fotinia! You get various sized embossed dots with this technique!
My CAS card design was inspired mainly by the colors and striking simplicity of Aga’s card from Altenew’s Inspiration Challenge as well as the first column (gold, watercolors, flowers) from AAA Card’s Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge.
The German sentiment “Gute Besserung” from Altenew’s German Label Love stamp set means “Get Well Soon”.
Thanks for stopping by today! ♥
